Over 240,000 rape and POCSO cases pending in courts. The government said that there are over 240,000 pending cases in courts related to rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act across the country till December last year.

"Even after all the changes to the law after my daughter's rape, rape cases are still being dragged in the country. As a result of this, no one is scared of either the police or the courts and girls are being dragged out of their cars in front of their families and being raped" , said Asha Devi, mother of 'Nirbhaya', who dies after being gang raped in 2012.

So why is this happening? Why are the numbers increasing every year, but not decreasing? Because of the lacking of quality in investigation, and impartiality. Due to this, it is tough to give a judicial statement and to implement it.

So for this, we need a separate special force department for every district (or Taluk), to deal with crime against women and children, where they are better equipped in giving quality investigations and to stick to justice and have rights to go to any level for their investigation process. Their investigation report is considered as the highest priority while giving judicial statement. (Like CBI, where their words are considered as the absolute truth). And also 70% of the department must be consisting of women for providing safer and comfortable environment for the victims.

Finally this department should give speedy and effective administration of justice in a holistic manner. So that the judgment will be given as early as possible and further will be implemented as soon as possible.

There is already a division similar to what we desire, called 'Women Safety Division' which majority of the people do not know about, and is inefficient.

As rape is the 4th most common crime against women in India, please consider this. We need fear in society and also fear of jurisdiction, government, so that in the future the crime rate reduces. 

Everyone has the right to justice in democracy, let's not spoil it with our carelessness. Don't stop until this reaches the government and is executed effectively.
