Everyone wants the food to reach them on time or in fact as soon as possible. For this reason, the delivery people risk their lives and the lives of others on the street. Be it a pedestrian or the commuters, everyone is in trouble thanks to the concept of faster delivery, lightning delivery, delivery within 20-30 minutes. We all are guilty of being impatient with food, hence delivery time becomes a USP for the food delivery companies and the pressure is put on the delivery people.

The problem is that these delivery boys have no choice but to comply with the rules and regulations of these companies who demand them to deliver the food within a period of time, having failed they raise issues against the delivery boys. The delivery personnel are scared of facing such consequences and resort to rash driving, driving in the opposite direction of the oncoming traffic, jumping signals to reach the destination a lot quicker, making bad decisions on the road while overtaking other vehicles, getting on to the footpath because of the traffic.

This is all happening because of the concept of faster delivery and the impatience to wait among the common man. The companies like Swiggy, Zomato, FoodPanda and many other companies are at fault for having such rules. I have seen many accidents, many cases of traffic rules been violated by these people and even though the Traffic Police are doing their best to control the situation, I honestly feel it is time for the companies to change these policies and drop the whole concept of faster delivery.

It is time for the public to also realize that they need to be more patient and not keep calling these delivery people and mistreat them for not being able to deliver the food faster. One has to understand that the food may need more time to prepare, maybe the traffic situation is really bad, the weather conditions might be hard or maybe the vehicle has some problems. Change should come from all of us, this includes the companies who need to change the rules, the drivers who need to comply with the traffic rules and us the people who need to understand that food can be delivered at any time and save the lives of the drivers and the public as well.
