Shreya Thota started this petition to Government of India. and

In India, incidents of animals being beaten, abused and killed for no reason are enormously regular. The increasing rate of stray dog population is subject to starvation and it's better to curb the stray dog population of India rather than watching them suffer without food and be a prey to attacks by people. Not only dogs but cows and buffaloes let loose by their herders for grazing purposes are often subjected to inhuman treatment by people. They are victims of road accidents and sometimes they cause road accidents out of panic and lead to deaths of themselves as well as humans. Starvation and continual abuse sometimes causes the stray dogs and animals to attack humans in turn they and even other innocent animals are starved, beaten, pelted and killed by people thus forming a never ending cycle.Even stray pig population must be controlled for they cause dangerous road accidents. So to altogether save these innocent animals and also to put a stop to attacks on humans by animals the Government of India and concerned bodies of the government are requested to castrate dog population and prevent cattle herders from letting their animals loose in human habitats.
