Animals are being troubled helter skelter on the roads in India. There have been incidences regarding cruelty towards animals happening everywhere in the country. I recently witnessed few such incidents in my colony. A box containing a litter of puppies was left on the roadside. There were 7 puppies in the box. 5 of them have either died of malnutrition while one has been adopted. The only puppy left is also extremely weak.

Similarly I found that people need to be encouraged to protect animals and a Nationwide awakening is necessary to do so.

People need to be sensitivised about such issues. Especially the children need to sensitivised. I was playing with a stray in my colony when a boy not more than 11 years old came riding on a bicycle and almost came crashing on the dog and turned at the last moment, just for the fun of it. Due to such incidents human animal conflicts increase as the animals feel insecure when they are around humans.

Humans and animals are both equally important for a sustainable future. Imagine a world where seeing a dog is as rare as seeing a diamond fallen on the roadside. I firmly believe that you and me, together have the power to change the mindset of people and make sure that no further ill treatment is doled out on animals.
