Burning wastes in open mostly includes burning garbage consisting of plastics, Rubber, wood, Paper. Burning such things lead to emmissions of various toxic gases that are harmful for living beings as well as environment. Burning of plastics causes release of Dioxins, NOx and carcinogenic gases. Burning of rubber release Carbon Monoxide and Sulphur Dioxide that is also very harmful.

Usually people think that burning the waste is the best way to get rid of the wastes. If this was the truth then there had been no disposal problems, we would have directly burnt all the wastes. But this is the worst way to get rid of the garbage. The harmful emmissions upon burning the waste can lead to many major health problems such as asthma, neurological disorders, nervous damage, cancer, heart attack, lowering the immunity. 

To avoid such situations people need to learn that burning waste is not the solution at all, rather segregation and proper disposal can be a good solution. In winters, people burn the waste to warm themselves but that too is a bad practice. To get rid of this problem and to stop open burning of wastes the immediate step is to put a ban upon it and the person found guilty must be highly fined for the practice.
