Non-reusable plastic items should be biodegradable

The Issue

All non-reusable plastics should be biodegradable. The amount of packaging that are used on modern items is humongous. And yet, almost none of it is made from biodegradable plastic. We need to change that.

We are asking the Government of Canada to implement laws that prohibit the use of single-use non-biodegradable plastic items, including but not limited to bags and other containers. Special exemptions may be granted by the government where the use of a biodegradable plastic might not be advisable for technical or health reasons.
