Government of Canada Must Condemn The Terrorist Attack in Ahvaz

The Issue

The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety

At least 29 people, including children, have been killed and over 60 injured in a terrorist attack in Ahvaz (Iran) that took place on the morning of September 22, 2018. Both ISIS and a separatist terror group called Al-Ahwazi have claimed responsibility.

We the undersigned, call on the Government of Canada to condemn the terrorist attack in Ahvaz and we urge them to take action against the terrorist organizations that have committed these attacks.

Time and again, the people of Iran have demonstrated to the world that they reject violence and terror. These acts of terror will only further destabilize the Middle East region and pose a threat to international security. Canada and the international community must stand behind Iranians in this crucial hour for a just, stable, and peaceful world.
