The so-called Sports Rorts affair was not just about money being given to clubs who did not need it - it was also about sports clubs that DO need support and DESERVED to get a grant, but were ignored.

Many sports clubs spent a great deal of precious time and money applying for these grants - only to slip through the cracks once the politicians began carving up the funds for the sake of their election campaign.

Corruption is not a victimless crime - it just has so many victims it can be hard to know where to begin.

Without a federal ICAC - it's unlikely we'll ever get to the bottom of who made the decisions on sports rorts and that does serious damage to our democracy and Australian's faith in government.

At a time of a global pandemic, when the government is demanding extraordinary sacrifices on the part of Australians, we have every right to demand transparency and accountability.

They work for us.
