This week we learned that the Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton had, allegedly, mimicked the behaviour of Senator Bridget McKenzie during the so-called Sports Rorts saga.

Coincidentally Senator Bridget McKenzie appeared before a Senate Committee investigating the so-called 'Sports Rorts' affair. The session generated far more heat than light, and was a salient reminder of why relying on political leaders to hold one another accountable is so desperately fraught.

Both events were a stark reminder of why we need a national integrity commission to investigate these matters and to hold our leaders accountable for their decisions.
