Currently, those with Aspergers can't access the Motability scheme due to physical bias. Some of them just can't cope with using public transportation and therefore could benefit from having their own transportation.

The current disability allowance criteria do not recognise the debilitating effect Asperger's has on people's freedom of mobility. It's about time Autism spectrum disorders are given the recognition they disserve.

Many people with Aspergers Syndrome can drive but are unable to use public transport. At the moment the government doesn't recognise the importance of this only mode of transport available to them and will not grant them mobility.

Access to this would greatly enhance their lives and enable them to access the community like everyone else.
