There is a huge distrust in the current social care system. Many people suffer greatly at false allegations and being made to feel lied about in paperwork or that certain incidents DIDNT happen and it’s there word against a social worker. 
With hostility towards social workers, and in turn social care staff feeling ‘unsafe’ working alone in the field we feel cameras would keep both parties safe and allow for 100% accountability.

We feel that social workers and the general public would feel safer if they wore body cameras- at all times. 

There would be no need to question fitness to practice, or even re check paperwork. There would be no more he said she said and camera could be checked for FACTS instead of lies and hearsay. 
Social workers should have the same accountability as police and the same training regarding perjury. Cameras will create fairness, ensure equity and diversity is adhered to, and can be used as data collection and comparative performance analysis. There are no negatives for anyone involved in ensuring those who work with children and the general public and vulnerable in society wear body cameras.  

The current distrust in the system for children and parents means that there’s no relationship between social worker and service users. Body cameras would mean that one another could trust again and that’s really important for children. We need to ensure that the social care teams and communities can begin to feel safe and evolve a fair, and harmonious relationship. The current system holds no accountability for the actions of council staff at often a very stressful time in families lives. Similarly false allegations against social care staff can be dismissed instantly saving money in costly social work England investigations. In terms of child protection and prevention and safeguarding it IS the best option moving forward.
