Increase Number of Guests at a Wedding depending on Tier and Venue Capacity
The Issue
The current government guidelines state that only 15 people can attend a wedding, depending on what tier, this may not include a reception.
Weddings take years of detailed, expensive and stressful planning that many are currently finding it extremely difficult to rearrange.
Myself and many others are currently having to rearrange our weddings, potentially not for the first time.
The new regulation of allowing spectators into outdoor sports stadiums is another massive step forward yet weddings are still being left behind without any scientific evidence to support this action.
We ask what evidence is there to say a gym or a pub has a lower risk of spreading Covid-19 than a wedding venue? Gyms provide significant more exertion which in turn could cause a higher risk of transmission if hygiene is not maintained. A wedding produces significantly reduced risk of this. Yet we are capped with a number that appears to have been plucked from the air. We ask why?
We can mix in a gym and also a pub with a multiple amount of "bubbles" yet we can not attend a wedding where a high amount of the guests are in the same "bubble".
We believe the tier system, scientific evidence and venue capacity should be deeply considered in the rapid increase of the number of wedding guests.
This is an industry that is slowly dying due to what feels the lack of consistency within the restriction guidelines. This is effecting people financially, mentally and with potentially moving forward in their family life.
