Government to take action on homelessness
This petition had 29,710 supporters
Homelessness is a massive issue in Greater Manchester and the whole of the UK. It ruins lives, isolates people and they can become mentally or physically harmed. On average, people sleeping rough are 17 times more likely to be victims of violence. It is very difficult to put a figure on the number of people who are homeless. However, campaigners have revealed that over 3200 people are surviving without a home in Greater Manchester. This rates the region as having the highest rates of homelessness in the North West.
We want to raise awareness about this issue. If you sign this petition, not only does it show you care for people in need, it will help society take a huge step forward in challenging homelessness. If we receive over 100,000 signatures, parliament will have to debate it.
