There has been an alarming 250% increase in dog thefts and associated assaults against owners resulting in fear amongst and harm to owners as well as anxiety, harm and death to dogs.

Organised criminals are making significant proceeds from these crimes which is drawing ever more to do the same. Such is the growth that it has become a significant national problem which requires a coordinated response.

This petition calls upon the government to urgentlydebate this situation and submit proposals to counter and prevent these crimes.
