In our current situation with coronavirus, while I understand the need to protect everyone as much as possible, what I don’t understand is , cancer patients being told they will not be able to continue their treatment if and when we go into lockdown. Classed as “vulnerable” we should be protecting them not sentencing them to death!

My mum was sentenced to death by our local hospital 3 years ago and refused further treatment, she is now nearly two years past that death row date and fighting hard for her life.

as a family we have witness what I’d never wish on any one to watch a loved one go through and we have seen what we thought unimaginable for the human body to endure. Why should her fight be ended without her consent? She chooses to get up and fight everyday, lockdown will take away that choice ending her treatment! Chemo is detrimental to her health and life expectancy and self isolation from a virus she may not even encounter for at least 12 weeks without treatment, this is what we have fought  as a family for, for 5 years, to lose her to a virus because the NHS will no longer treat her!

Not just for my family but for yours too, and your friends, partners, husbands, wives and children, fight for chemo to continue.

let cancer patients have the choice to be treated, many, even those who are terminal and advanced cancer patients still have life in them regardless of age, let them choose !
