Stop - Take Down The Site

This petition had 419 supporters

Afterlife is described on its website as “Canada’s largest database of deceased people.” The Quebec-based company is owned by entrepreneur Paco Leclerc.

This site is copying obituaries posted on funeral home and newspaper websites across the country onto their site. Their loved ones know nothing about it and it's hurting and angering many people.

In recent social media threads, people have reported emailing the company to have certain family member obits removed. This is just a band-aid. The site needs to come down and the piracy of obituaries for profit needs to stop.

The company claims "all we do is group all obituaries into one database that informs the public and allows people over distances to reach out to their family and friends during a difficult time by being able to send condolences and flowers easily and quickly all in one place."

However, there's an awful lot of people out there who don't know this is happening to their lost loved ones, and someone seems to be making money off the venture.

Please sign and share and show support for stopping this company from profiting off people's grief.
