Far too many women and their children are victims of domestic abuse first by the beatings, torcher, verbal abuse, rape and all other means of violence. Far too often Women are murdered by their spouses leaving the children and being raised without their mothers. We need tougher sentences for those perpetrators found guilty of domestic violence, violence with weapons, stalking and all other violent crimes against women and children. We need the law enforcements to provide protection to these vulerable women and children before they become victims of murder. We need safe places for our women to go with their children, not just in the major hubs, but, in every community. How many more women have to die before something is done to protect the most vulnerable in Canadian society, the women and children. Canada is responsible for protecting each and every citizen in this country to the fullest extent of the law. As signers of the UN Declaration it is also their duty to provide everyone, especially the women and children, the basic right to life. We need tougher sentences to send a clear message that Violence Against Women and Children will not be tolerated in Candian society.
