Ban variable speed motorways

Ban variable speed limits and camera operated penalty schemes. Originally designed for safety; these technologies, have now become money making schemes and are being abused by councils and police highway agencies.

People who have been driving for years “safely” are now being caught driving minimal miles over speed limits in variable limit zones and 20 mile hour areas. Resulting in attending courses at the cost of £100. We all know most of the money generated goes to paying large training facilities, training organisations and their staff, with minimal going to the police or local roads or community. Whilst acknowledging, some money goes back to the community, this system is not encouraging safe driving, when drivers are so focused on their speed clocks, they no longer have road awareness or use their own freedom of thought and judgement.
