Thanks in part to your involvement, the City of Los Angeles has dropped the re-routing of Paseo Del Mar through the White Point Nature Preserve as an option in the Draft Environmental Impact Report that has just been issued by the City. However, they are going full steam ahead on their rebuilding efforts regardless of a price tag that could be over $100 million. Please consider responding to the City's request for comments on their Draft EIR. There remains much to be concerned about. Here are the details: "The Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Paseo del Mar Permanent Restoration Project. It is available for public review at http://eng.lacity.org/techdocs/emg/paseodelmar_restoration.htm, the San Pedro Library, Miraleste Library, Council District 15 office in San Pedro, and at the Bureau of Engineering downtown. This project is in the pre-design phase. Concurrently, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) work is progressing. There will be a 60-day review period from April 6 – June 5. Public comment is encouraged. Comments will be accepted from April 6, 2017 to June 5, 2017.
