On Saturday 18th September 2021 my beloved cat was mauled by a neighbours dog in our back garden. The dog had escaped the shed it was locked in and jumped over garden walls and into our garden, attacking our cat and prematurely ending her life. The police have done nothing about this because it wasn't a human the dog attacked and the RSPCA won't attend because it wasn't in the street. 

I would like to see new laws which would

1. See owners of animals who cause death or injury to family pets, held accountable and are prosecuted in the same way they would had a human be injured. 

2. See drivers of vehicles whom hit and kill cats, made to stop and take the cat to the nearest vets and filling out a form with their details as they would a car accident. (you currently by law have to stop if you hit a dog, why can't this include cats also. I understand that some people may be unaware that they have hit an animal but those who purposely aim and speed up should be held accountable - there are enough cameras around to capture these things) 

My cat was a very important part of my family and was just recovering to normal after an amputation operation, so you can only imagine how upset I as an owner am, and more so that nothing can be done to bring justice for my beautiful baby.
