My Father, Lorenzo Robinson Sr. Was sentenced under M.C.A 99-19-83 for crimes that carry a maximum sentence of 20 years. However, that 20 year sentence was enhanced to 2 consecutive life sentences. My father was just 27 years old when he was told that he would serve the remainder of his life in prison. My father was not charged nor accused of Murder. 

The courts say Mississippi Three Strike Statute (M.C.A 99-19-83) is not a charge, just a sentence enhancement. To enhance any person that’s convicted of a crime to a natural life sentence is going way overboard! And the legislature holds the power to end it. 

My father is one of hundreds, even thousands of inmates serving a life sentence due to the Three Strike Statute. Join me in asking the Mississippi Law Makers to end this cruel statute by signing this petition.
