Jessica Surber started this petition to Goverment officials who create and/or change laws and

Joshua was an adorable, loving, and sweet pit mix puppy, maybe a year old. He was a wild little thing but he he was learning and you could see it. Joshua also lived next to a farm with sheep, pigs, and chickens. Joshua liked to play with the chickens that the owner raised for slaughter. Because he was a PUPPY, he played too rough and didn't know any better. Needless to say, this farm's owner wasn't thrilled when she found out. Joshua got about 5. The lady at the farm made Joshua's owner aware of the problem. So Joshua's owner was taking measures to teach his puppy not to go into the neighbor's yard. But as we all know, it takes time. Yesterday, Joshua was shot and killed by this woman. Because he was in her yard.

After some research, it seems there is nothing legally we can do about such a thing because what she did is considered LEGAL. This wasn't a wild animal. This was not a vicious animal. There ARE possible way that aren't lethal to make a dog or cat stay out your yard, especially a puppy. This was someone's PET and she KNEW it. There has got to be some way to change this law or at the very least edit it. I'm not saying a death sentence. But there isnt even a FINE. There may be a lot of things that are difficult to change. This shouldnt be one of them.

I'm aware of the law protecting a farmer who is trying to protect his livelihood. I understand that it is a loss and I am all for getting compensated for your loss. But I also can't find a reason why there isn't some kind of stipulation for people's pets, especially in a situation like this one.

Please help me make this happen. People should NOT be able to shoot and kill someone's pet like this. Joshua didn't deserve this. He deserves justice.
