Justice for Able and Oliver's fight against Animal cruelty

Justice for Able and Oliver's fight against Animal cruelty
The Issue
Laws need to change to protect animals from being brutally mutilated and to differentiate the extent of excessive force for the soul purpose of protecting livestock. Most dog owners are responsible for their pets and try their best to protect them. Occasionally there are times this is not possible and they accidentally get loose or away from you. The one time this happened to my son his dogs were returned in garbage bags with their collars taken off laying beside the bags and we're mutilated because they supposedly were chasing and killed a few of our neighbors chickens. If in fact this did happen the law protects the neighbors because it is considered to be their property and livestock. But the law does not give them the right to mutilate them. One dog was a 3 yr old AKC husky that was missing an eye and his tongue, had a broken neck, and was missing a patch of hair 4x6 on his backside that looked like it was either shaved or burnt off. The other dog was a emotional support dog that had a broken jaw and shoulder and smashed paw. Both dogs had Bale twine wrapped around their neck and the Husky was soaking wet. Animal cruelty police stated the shooting was justified because of the laws but no response as to how the condition of the dogs were returned. The neighbor may have had the right to shoot them according to the law but shouldn't have the right to mutilate and disfigure them. Necropsy showed no evidence of feathers, blood, or bones on the extremities of the dogs or in there stomach. Justice for these poor animals is needed so it doesn't happen again. There also should be some kind of responsibility and laws for people who choose to have free roaming animals that are not properly retained from all kinds of predators or even for safety reasons. This was not a farm and the individual has less than an acre of land where their chickens roam free in their front yard close to the road where many times they are hit by cars. These neighbors are known to do this and have a history but know the loop holes to get away with it. My son was sued for 2,795.00 for 13 chickens and judgement came in for 1,075.00 plus 15.00 court fee. So unjust and amount was ridiculous. This could happen to anyone and people need to be responsible for their actions just as well. Some people just get away with it because they know they can get away with it because of how the laws are written. This could happen to you. Laws need to change to protect all!
