Banning the sale of loud fireworks
Banning the sale of loud fireworks
A lot of people and animals are suffering every year from the fear and shock of the noise from fireworks.
I recently lost an 11 week old kitten from heart failure. This is not uncommon through shock from the noise of fireworks to the healthiest of animals, who are petrified, but also to army veterans with PTSD, the list, sadly is endless.
This cruelty, is not just happening on special occasions, despite the laws enforcements, but at unsociable hours, throughout the year, every year.
It is a welfare situation which needs to be addressed. It is utterly inhumane.
I am appealing, for the banning of loud fireworks, and will ask that control measures are put in place, whereby, fireworks (which may still be purchased), can be replaced with silent fireworks and if more stringent regulations could be put in place surrounding the purchase and use of them, outside of organised events.
This change would help society, humans, pets & wildlife, prevent them from entering a state of fear and alarm, shaking uncontrollably or even dying.
A lot of large supermarkets, one being Sainsburys, refused the sale of fireworks this year, supporting the safety of our furry friends. They should be commended. Safety and welfare over money.
Every signature given, will help make a difference, not just for now, but for the future and lives of our families and pets.
Thank you so much.
