Kwawblay, aka Kwabre, a community's last stand

The last time I shared an update, we were very heartbroken because we were at the verge of losing Kwawblay forest, a critical watershed and primate sanctuary (Focal Primates | wapca) in Nzema West district (aka Jomoro) in the Western Region.
Today, although still heartbroken at the irreparable destruction the forest and swamps suffered during the two weeks the Government endorsed Galamseyers were there, the Youth of Nzema, led by their King, King Kaku Ackah III, and with support from well meaning Nzema people home and abroad, have finally succeeded in driving them out.
Finally our dear Kwawblay and the people and primates it supports, is safe again. It's now up to all of us to amplify the voices of such communities standing up for themselves against powerful political forces like our own government that is bent on destroying our communities. Please share our story, our video and if you can, send a note to the President of Ghana (info@presidency.gov.gh) to leave our communities alone.
