Petition updateNO MORE BLASTING IN W. MIRAMAR AND NW MIAMI-DADE, FL.Miami-Dade Commission meeting Dec 6 @9:30 am
Riviera IslesHollywood, FL, United States
Dec 2, 2016
Dear neighbors,
This is a reminder about the upcoming meeting on Tuesday, December 6th at the Miami-Dade County Commission Chambers (111 NW First St., second floor. Miami, FL 33128).
We have a NEW OPPORTUNITY to speak up, voice our concerns and demand that elected officials do something about the blasting. Commissioner Esteban Bovo from Miami-Dade County has presented a resolution that was passed in the Unincorporated Municipal Service Area (UMSA) committee earlier this month and will be heard for final adoption next Tuesday.
The proposed text of the resolution does not address our concerns with the standards themselves. Over the last couple of months we have gained a lot of collective knowledge on this issue and on how local politics work, we need to transmit all of that experience to the commission so they can amend the language and ensure that this effort is more than just a formality.
The meeting starts at 9:30 am. We understand that many people work during the day and not everybody can make it. But please remember that we need your attendance. We will be there with other members of the Riviera Isles Blasting Committee presenting our case and supporting our neighbors in N.Miami-Dade.
As a friendly suggestion, we ask you to please describe the impact that the blasting is having on your quality of life. The resolution only speaks about monitoring. What we really need is a STUDY to demonstrate the effects of blasting at the current levels both on structures as well as the POPULATION.
We are stronger together!!! Remember to wear RED.
