Remove Rick Francis from the Texas Tech Board of Regents

Chancellor Robert Duncan has been a stalwart supporter of Texas Tech University for decades. Now, as he is set to deliver his crowning achievement -- the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo -- certain individuals are doing everything in their power to stop him.
It's been reported the effort to oust Duncan was led by Board of Regents Chair Rick Francis. We believe the situation was handled poorly and has led to a mistrust of the Board of Regents. We feel the only way to resolve this situation is for Francis to step down or be removed from his position as board chair.
We the undersigned, as students, faculty, alumni, and supporters of Texas Tech University, state our vote of No Confidence in Texas Tech Board of Regents Chair Rick Francis.
We are urging Rick Francis to do the right thing and step down from his position immediately. His actions have shown that he is not acting in the best interests of the Texas Tech University System and have, furthermore, led to a mistrust of the BOR. If he doesn’t step down, Governor Greg Abbott should remove Rick Francis from his position or simply not reappoint him to the BOR when his term is up on January 31, 2019.
