Dear Gov. Abbott and Lt. Gov. Patrick,

Many states have recently legalized marijuana, whether for medical purposes, recreational purposes, or both.  Those states have seen decent revenues going toward education and other beneficial purposes.  It is less dangerous than alcohol, and legalization would include using the taxation and regulation methods used for alcoholic beverages.  It would also free up the prisons for more serious and violent offenders, and end a failed, decades-long policy that was designed to permanently disenfranchise racial minorities.

Also, you may be familiar with the #FreeTheNipple campaign, and probably similar others, designed to decriminalize public nudity.  When, for example, nude Shakespeare or nude opera performers are faced with the same legal repercussions as rapists and child predators, there is a problem.  Such laws also violate separation of church and state, because the Bible and the Quran are the source of much of the negative attitudes against nudity.

Please be on the right side of history, and move Texas forward, and legalize both.
