A friend of mine was cowardly attacked at Newark Penn Station after The New Jersey Devils Playoff game. On her commute back home she was approached by a female asking for directions, seconds later her and a friend were attacked and beaten. This is a very dangerous situation, one in which NJ transit should pay for. It was after 10pm on a Saturday evening after a major sporting event, I think even in this case security and transit police should have been on heavy duty. The beaten woman was told that there were no cameras on the track area and that is very concerning, I have contacted Cory Booker via twitter and he responded that the City of Newark does not have any jurisdiction over NJ Transit. So I am starting this petition to make riding the train via NJ transit safer, not just safer for women, but for people in general. This could have been your child, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, or niece. Let's do the right thing by signing this petition, passing it along and creating the change that we want in this state and country!
