Petition updateStop Timber Rattlesnake Quabbin Island Project/DCR Accountability to TaxpayersATHOL TIMBER RATTLESNAKE MEETING
Deb N ElvinMA, United States
May 10, 2016 — UPDATE: The Athol meeting was approximately 5 hours long. Many questions were asked, many answers were received. The state has created a "working group" with legislatures to further discuss the timber rattlesnake plan at the Quabbin. Senator Eric Lesser asked Mr. Tom French and his crew sitting at a front table "if we put together this working group, and at the end of all of this we decide no, are you ok with that", the answer from them was "yes, absolutely". Thus, there is the possibility that all of our efforts, your voices and input, as well as many others could have a direct result in cancelling this plan or relocating it to another area. THANK YOU to our legislators who were there today, and took the time and efforts to field concerns, and ask many questions. Continued discussions will take place with all involved regarding this project, and we will keep you updated as information becomes available to us. Your voices are being heard, and it is making a difference. http://www.recorder.com/State-resets-Quabbin-rattlesnake-plan-2050711
