Petition update
Stop Timber Rattlesnake Quabbin Island Project/DCR Accountability to Taxpayers
Governor Baker Meeting
Deb N Elvin
MA, United States
May 5, 2016 —
UPDATE: (permission was granted by Governor Baker's office to post this). A scheduled meeting via telephone took place today with Governor Baker's office to review the Petition, and extensive documents which were submitted supporting the opposition to the timber rattlesnake plan, as well as DCR accountability to taxpayers. Time and attention was given regarding each segment of the submittals. Your comments on the Petition are very articulate, well written, and provide excellent reasonings and concerns which deserve attention. It was a positive, professional and receptive conversation. We have been assured that the Petition, and all supportive documentation will be reviewed and taken seriously by Governor Baker, and he has already been speaking with other officials regarding this. His office stated that they have never received such a well organized and thought out petition process like this, thus, your behind the scenes efforts are being acknowledged, and your voices are being heard and listened to. Scientific facts and reasonings to cancel this plan were also submitted. A thank you was given to his office on behalf of everyone signing and objecting to this plan for the time they took today to review the Petition and documents. Please sign the Petition, and share as all new additional signatures will be submitted again at a later date.
