All residents voices need to be heard, are you happy a tourist attraction is going to be built in a residential area, right next to our hospital!

It would appear that this is yet another prime example of the Council acting with total disregard for the people of Blackpool. Selling the family silver for what? I attended the so called consultation last week and was completely unimpressed. A cynical PR stunt. One thing that really struck me was a lady who has lived in very close proximity to the proposed development for almost 40 years. Her sentiments ranged from absolute fury to utter heartbreak. Her point of view was expressed with great clarity and genuine emotion. As an older resident she spoke for one generation yet as a retired teacher I wonder if in making this decision the Council have considered the thoughts and opinions of Blackpool children. If you want to get the whole picture ask the kids! They don’t hold back and in my experience they can and do ask all the right questions. This proposed development could potentially take this beautiful green space away from Blackpool folk for many generations- apparently up to 175 years!! Remember- once it’s gone… it’s GONE!! I for one feel that if we allow this to happen- the children of this town will never forgive us.
