The Issue

Goop Kitchen Drivers Need Restrooms, Safe Working Conditions & Off-street parking at Beverly Bites delivery depot in Pico Robertson. Neighbors need their quality of life back.

Residents near the Beverly Bites ghost kitchen at 8600 Pico Blvd. are asking Goop Kitchen and city officials to address ongoing sanitation, traffic, parking and worker-condition concerns connected to the high-volume food delivery depot operating in our neighborhood.

Drivers standing by all hours of the day and night waiting for orders have no restroom or handwashing facilities available. These drivers work through apps like Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and Door Dash.  Workers dominate the already-limited residential street parking in the surrounding residential neighborhoods.

Residents have witnessed and documented  constant public urination and discarded urine bottles near the facility while drivers continue handling food deliveries throughout the day and late into the night without a proper hand washing station.

This is unfair to drivers, unhealthy for neighbors, and concerning for consumers ordering food through premium wellness brands operating from the location.

The surrounding residential streets were never designed to function as staging areas for dozens of unsupervised delivery vehicles every hour at a facility that sometimes runs 24 hours a day. Neighbors regularly report blocked driveways, double parking, red-zone parking, blocked sight lines, congestion, noise, and dangerous traffic conditions tied to the operation.

Residents have repeatedly contacted Parking Enforcement, LAPD, the City Attorney’s Office, and Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky’s office. Despite ongoing attention from multiple city agencies, the problems continue. Most recently a Parking Enforcement Vehicle was vandalized with tires slashed when a patrol officer left the vehicle to issue citations. The City resources strained by Goop Kitchen and Beverly Bites operation suggest a solution is needed for the permitting behind these delivery depots.

Los Angeles urgently needs better oversight and regulation of high-volume ghost kitchens operating inside dense residential neighborhoods. Workers deserve basic dignity and restroom access. Residents deserve safe and passable streets. Consumers deserve confidence in the sanitation conditions behind their food deliveries.

We are asking Goop Kitchen, Beverly Bites, delivery platforms Uber Eats, Door Dash, Grub Hub, the State of California and Los Angeles city officials to work together toward immediate solutions including restroom access for drivers, safe loading areas, sanitation measures, and meaningful enforcement before conditions worsen further.
