Blurring out areas on Google Maps for specific locations because of government regulations is understandable - but for houses its unfair.

Someone can blur out a house - and when they sell the house the next owner cannot unblur the house. Or someone can imitate you and blur your house out of spite.

If you want to blur out your house - fine - but there should be a option on the next time Google Street View updates the maps for your street address that you or the next owner can request for Google to update the street view image for your house unblurred. House changes hands - the next owner shouldn't have to have there house blurred out forever.

Update: As pointed out by supporters - You should have to show government ID & ownership of property to blur / unblur location. 

If showing ownership is too much - only show ownership (mortgage statement, etc.) if their is a dispute over someone else blurring your property out.

Google could have a House Blur / Unblur toggle in your Gmail account.
