Stop Viagogo's immoral and illegal practices. There are too many victims.

The Issue

Please help Viagogo Victims and sign this petition. We must stop illegal and immoral event ticket traders.

Why? Read on...

As a member of a group of over 10,000  members, who have all been victims of Viagogo.com in the past 3 years, in one way or another, after purchasing (in some cases,  extortionately over-inflated tickets) there are things that need to change.

1) STRESS FOR CUSTOMERS NOT GETTING REFUNDS FOR COVID CANCELLED CONCERTS. Due to covid cancelled concerts there have been many people who have not been refunded as per the terms and conditions of the contract. Viagogo say the events are postponed where organisers say they are cancelled and Viagogo start by offering a ticket transfer to the next year's date. Some cannot go on this date and have lost travel bookings.

Many of these have lost their jobs in the pandemic so need their money, others are  completely exhausted from sending many emails that are ignored, even though they are acknowledged by an auto email process. Some banks can do a charge back or put the charge in dispute. Other banks will not. Some customers have had to start legal proceedings to recover the debt (refund) others have given up as it was making them too ill. There have been rare occasions when people have asked for a refund from Viagogo and get it but usually it takes months and aftet the threat of legal proceedings.

SOLUTION. This is illegal and Viagogo should be stopped from trading immediately unless they pay out the refunds to all these customers as per Ts and Cs without legal proceedings and having the stress of calling banks for bank charge backs/credit card disputes.

2) TICKETS ADVERTISED AS IN STOCK BUT DONT EXIST YET. They are selling covid postponed tickets from 2020 events for 2021 events on-line for concerts(no idea if this is Viagogo or a 3rd party) and advertising the tickets as 'in stock' where the event organisers haven't released any yet.

'In stock' means to normal people that they will get them delivered shortly after purchasing depending on delivery selection . I paid extra £2 per ticket for this only to have email confirmation saying... Awaiting release and they will be delivered some time in the week before the event! that is June 2021! Why if they are In Stock?

I asked for a refund but was told there is a 'no refunds' policy in these circumstances but I was offered to relist my tickets (only for someone else to be a victim) and Viagogo then get more commission from the seller and the buyer. I declined.

They apparently are allowed to offer tickets that are not yet available, though as a new event tickets consumer this is not known, so they should advertise as 'awaiting release' to be clear pre purchase!

SOLUTION. Please stop companies like this who are falsely advertising tickets and misleading customers

Or put in a LAW for ticket source 'awaiting release' if not available pre-purchase. Also to clearly state who owns the current tickets (Seller), Viagogo or seller name and reliability rating.

3) PRESSURE SALES TIMER ClOCK (10 mins) does not give you chance to read the full Ts and Cs. These are many many pages long and difficult to see the refund policy.

There are so many details to enter and 10 mins is barely enough time to do that let alone read Ts and Cs. The company say it is to give buyers a fair experience of purchasing those tickets. Think this is just Immoral and are pressuring customers (with tickets selling fast claims!) in these COVID times where they are NOT selling fast at all and people should be explained the refund policy and important Ts and Cs before the clock timer starts.

SOLUTION. Please ban pressure sales timers unless the refund policy is CLEARLY shown and the information is not misleading (the consumer should tick to say they have read a highlighted refund policy and Ts and Cs BEFORE the timer starts.

4)  FACE VALUE - This company also act as a 3rd party ticket listing organisation for anyone to list tickets at any price they like... This is unethical if over 10% of face value. A 10% cap is reasonable to stop immoral sellers (scam artists) taking advantage of buyers.

When purchasing online it is hard to see the very small 'face value' that is shown pre-purchase as there is a huge alert below it that draws your attention away from the tiny face value figure. I've been told people have paid over 10times the value of the ticket. This is disgusting and they wouldn't have purchased them and been ripped off (scammed)  if the face value was clearly shown.

SOLUTION. Please can someone regulate this and:

a) insist on Face value being shown in large print under the ticket sale price to compare for fairness.

b) set a law to stop ridiculous over-inflation of ticket prices. A 10% cap is adequate not to rip people off.

5) You can search in google or bing for an artist and venue and they appear at the top of each results  (as a paid Advert). They are not adhering to the terms agreed with Microsoft and Google Ads. False claims, misleading information, illegal practices etc

SOLUTION. Microsoft and Google please do your bit for society and ban Viagogo adverts that contain immoral and misleading information and Viagogo are operating illegally.
