It is extremely disturbing to find content on Youtube that not only maligns the Islamic community as a whole but directly insults the religious figures that Muslims hold in great honor and reverence. Movies like 'The Innocent Prophet' spreads a false narrative and a vitriolic criticism of Islam and the Prophet, without any evidence. Qur'anic verses taken out of context and baseless arguments accompanied by insulting images does not make good evidence for analysis, and such abusive content should not be propagated under the garb of freedom of expression.

Despite many people reporting the content, the video has not been taken down but only a disclaimer has been put up. The argument that if one doesn't agree to a point of view should not watch it does not hold true in such cases. For this is not an alternative view but a desperate attempt at intentionally hurting and maligning a whole community. So even if those who are hurt by it decide not to watch it, it has the potential of aggravating the already existing prejudices in the society. Moreover, spreading falsehood and hate in the name of freedom of speech is a loophole that people had been misusing for quite some time now and it is time to address this problem. This is not the characteristic of a civilized man, rather i would call it subtle barbarism for it is slow-poisoning the society with hate and violence against each other. 

It is, therefore, requested that appropriate action be taken against such individuals or groups who abuse the medium of internet to spread hatred in the society and hurt the sentiments of the people. The notion of freedom of speech and expression is supposed to bring about a positive change in the life of an individual and the society as a whole. Wherever the signs of abuse of this idea are apparent, restrictions should be imposed. Although i agree that it's difficult to draw a line but at least the content which is overtly insulting (like the one i mentioned above) must and should be taken down.
