Scoped storage is not a JUST replacement for the current file apis available in android.

By forcing this on all developers, it will take a huge amount of effort, time, and money to implement.

This will also result in every single file manager in android vanishing as we know it.

Furthermore, the new scoped storage apis are not mature enough and do not handle many unique cases required by us developers.

WHAT WE WANT:

Do not remove the current storage access permission from android Q.

Release the Scoped Storage apis as the current recommended approach.

Gradually over the next 2 years depreciate the old storage apis as Scoped Storage becomes more mature and developers have more time to adapt.
