To "flatten the curve" on COVID-19, thousands of small businesses have temporarily closed out of concern for our national health. Yet big wealthy corporations like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Dropbox, and LinkedIn continue to charge them fees to keep their accounts active. Accounts that provide email addresses, file shares, office tools, and other basic business services.

Our local restaurants and storefronts have little (if any) income today. If they have to cancel and create these accounts again, it will set them back even further. I ask that all SaaS providers give their affected customers 3-6 months of credit.

One of the first restaurants in Massachusetts to choose to close is Clover Food Lab. They are sharing their shelter-in-place journey on their website, including fun YouTube videos. Not fun is the post from March 17, 2020 which details the merciless refusal of these large corporations to assist in a time a need. Clover Food Lab has every intention and reason to reopen after COVID-19. They are a successful and innovative local chain with twelve sites and a Whole Foods partnership. Even so, it will be difficult for them to recover without compassion from larger businesses. And if Clover can't recover, I don't know if any of our smaller restaurants can.

Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Dropbox, and LinkedIn, you can do this! We are all a part of "flattening the curve". Giving a few months credit to small businesses will go a long way in support our national, state, and local recoveries. Thank you
