Petition for a Google Doodle in Honor of the 30th Anniversary of the ADA

The Issue

Over the years, Google has rarely honored significant moments in disability history. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), we are asking Google to acknowledge this historic moment with a Google Doodle on July 26th, 2020.

The ADA was signed into law by George H.W. Bush in 1990. The ADA created civil rights protections for disabled Americans. It prohibits discrimination against the disabled in public life, which includes obs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.

Our petition is addressed to Ryan Germick, the head of the Google Doodle Team, and is the brainchild of youth disability rights activist Jennifer Lee.
