Petition updateGoogle & Apple: stop road deaths and injury from mobile phonesOi!! Says New Zealand to mobile phone distracted drivers. What?

Using a mobile phone while driving makes drivers take their eyes off the road, their hands off the steering wheel and their minds off the road. A driver is 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash when texting on a mobile phone and driving.

I love seeing supportive government action. All that is missing here is including in the ad a call to action to enable "Do Not Disturb While Driving" on your mobile phones!

Sadly, despite these attempts at education by government agencies and emergency services, it won't work because of our strong addictions to our mobile phones. Less than 10% of us will notice. But Google & Apple could EASILY fix this!
