SUBJECT: Goldstein stands with Israel – an open letter to Zoe Daniel MP

Dear Ms Daniel

Thank you for your prompt response to our open letter, confirming your strong condemnation for Hamas as a terrorist organisation. As members of your electorate, we are hurting and we appreciate your continued attention to safety and security of Jewish community within Goldstein. We also acknowledge your public statement that you ”emphatically disagreed with the Greens amendment and those who supported it”.  

We trust that we can continue to rely on you, as our elected Member of Parliament to represent our voices with power and conviction. We also rely on your unequivocal support for Israel in its darkest hour and its obligation to defend itself against terrorism. As stated by the UK PM Sunak yesterday, Israel is “…taking every precaution to avoid harming civilians… in direct contrast to the terrorists of Hamas, which seeks to put civilians in harm’s way.”

We request the following motion to be presented to Parliament and we rely on you, as our elected representative, to make our voices heard:

"We unequivocally condemn Hamas for its terrorist actions against Israel. Israel has the right to defend itself and its citizens. We strongly condemn Hamas for its war crimes, including using Gaza residents as a human shield, launching rockets from civilian buildings, deliberately targeting Israeli civilians and blocking evacuation of innocent Palestinians. For these reasons, we will hold Hamas responsible for any civilian casualties in Gaza. The hostages should be released immediately as a pre-condition for any humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza".
