Kill Lucas the Spider

Kill Lucas the Spider
The Issue
"Arachnophobia" The irrational fear of spiders. The reputation of a spider has been always fearful and rightfully so. The internet sensation, Lucas the Spider, has taken the world by storm with it's "cuteness," but unfortunately for their surprise, the popularizing of these creatures only worsen the annual victim's rate.
According to Anders Nielsen, Ph.d., "In the United States, an average of 6.6 people die from venomous spider bites each year...Spiders use venom to kill their prey after they have captured it in their web or by other means." In the same article, it is mentioned that 6.6 people are murdered by these beasts of Satan, this may not seem quite as bad, but when compared to snakes at 5.5 per year or 3 death a year from bulls, the spider's reputation has gained its reputation for a reason. (Nielson)
"In 1991, Graham Davey at City University London ran a study to understand more about this view. He interviewed 118 undergraduate students about their fears of spiders. About 75% of the people sampled were either mildly or severely afraid of spiders. Of those most were female. (This gender bias in arachnophobia has been supported subsequent research.)" (Buddle).
So why is Lucas the Spider a problem? As the world loses its fear to arachnids, the population will soon face the death of many more people due to the carelessness, lack of carefulness and overall disintegration of common sense that will put these creatures higher and higher on the list of deaths caused by animals.
SIGN THIS PETITION TO END UNNECESSARY DEATHS CAUSED BY SPIDERS, THAT ARE POPULARIZED BY LUCAS THE SPIDER.
