Paul Eliseo Torres Peñaloza y Jorge Gael Torres Mendez, eran jovenes ciclistas que les gustaba realizar esta actividad desde hace años; sin embargo, el 11 de Septiembre del año en curso, mientras estaban realizando esta actividad por el acotamiento de la carretera que va de Puerto Morelos a Playa del Carmen, cerca del hotel Iberostar, una camioneta que iba a exceso de velocidad los embistió provocando su muerte en forma instantanéa. El conductor del vehículo en ningún momento se frenó ni trató de esquivarlos, deteniéndose a uno punto nueve kilómetros, y eso fue sólo porque traía una de las bicicletas atorada debajo de la camioneta. Esta persona fue plenamente identificada por el polícia federal que levantó el acta correspondiente, pero jamás fue puesta a disposición de las autoridades correspondientes para que se le hiciera un examen toxicológico. Las personas que conocemos a Paul y Jorge Gael, así como sus familiares nos sentimos indignados, por lo que solicitamos la presente petición se les haga justicia y se proceda conforme a derecho. El conductor que embistió a nuestros amigos y compañeros, trabaja para la empresa TERRATUNEL, S.A. DE C.V. y el vehìculo que conducía esta persona, de igual forma pertenece a la misma empresa. Nuestra preocupación es que no se hagan las cosas conforme a derecho. Cabe mencionar que Paul era una persona responsable que trabajaba en un hotel de una cadena reconocida. Tras su muerte, dejó un dolor inmenso en sus familiares así como en su esposa y sus dos niños. Jorge Gael, era un recien egresado de la Licenciatura de Enfermería de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit el cual estaba realizando su Servicio Social en el hospital de la ciudad de Cancún, Quintana Roo. Ambos dejaron una vida y muchos proyectos por delante.

Paul Eliso Torres Peñaloza and Jorge Gael Torres Méndez were two young cyclists that enjoyed the sport for many years. On September 11, 2016 while they were cycling in the bike lane on the Cancun-Playa del Carmen Highway, in front of the Hotel Iberostar Playa Paraiso, a pickup truck that was driving at an excessive speed hit them with no indication of trying to break or avoid hitting them, causing them an instant death. The driver of this vehicle stopped almost two miles ahead of the crash scene only because there was a bicycle stuck underneath his truck.  The driver of this vehicle was identified and questioned by the federal police, but was not fully investigated and a toxicology test was not performed. The driver was then released from the scene and set free. The people who knew Paul and Gael, their families and friends feel outraged. This is why we are soliciting signatures for a petition, so that we can find justice for this reckless and criminally negligent act. The driver who killed our loved ones works for a company called TERRATUNEL, S.A. de C.V., and the vehicle he committed this crime with was the company's vehicle. We are worried that we will not get the justice that Paul, Gael and we all deserve. Paul was a responsible, hard working employee of a very well known hotel chain. His death has resulted in tremendous pain and loss to his family, his wife and two small boys. Jorge Gael had just graduated as a Licensed Nurse from The Universidad Autónoma in Nayarit. He was doing his community service at a hospital in Cancun, Quintana Roo. Both of these men were beloved by a vast number of people, demonstrated by the overwhelming outpour of love and support, and they both left promising lives with profound futures.
