Please create an "adopt don't shop" campaign to buttress your apology for the heartless Super Bowl ad.

The Issue

Dear GoDaddy and CEO Blake Irving:

Thanks for pulling the disgraceful Superbowl Ad poking fun at puppy mills and selling dogs online. Now put your money where your mouth is--please support "adopt don't shop"!!

We were glad to see your apology regarding the horrible and sad video of a tiny puppy who finds his way home--only to find he's been sold online and being heartlessly shipped away. (https://garage.godaddy.com/godaddy/message-received-loud-clear/)

We'd like to see you put your money where your mouth is and donate money to an "adopt don't shop" campaign. We'd also like to see you discuss the dangers of selling dogs online and stop that practice.

While we're certainly glad this awful ad is not airing, we feel it did not reflect any insight into why we animal advocates were upset over your mocking of the horrific abuse of animals raised this way. It's no laughing matter, these dogs are tortured and bred and live miserable, sickly lives. Selling dogs online is also a HUGE problem as these dogs end up being unscrupulously bred and used as bait dogs by fighting people. Also, we advocate for adopting pets, rather than buying them, as so many dogs (and cats) are killed because there aren't enough homes for them. No one should need to buy a pet when there are so many who desperately need homes.

 Thank you,

Amy and Martin at the Sammy the Cocker Spaniel Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/Sammy-the-cocker-spaniel/552055094835446) and all friends of Sammy and all friends and advocates for abused, neglected, abandoned, tethered, and unloved pets everywhere!
