It is a "Jim Crow" like situation that stigmatized HIV-positive people. The nation's largest AIDS service provider organization, Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) should  not be condoning such actions and is being charged by clients with going along with realtors in this blatant form of discrimination. This has been an ongoing dispute since  the agency agreed to a multi-year lease with realtors in 2011. The building has a main entrance shared with tenants including The Associated Press and WNET in a commercial section  on the westside in New York City. But GMHC clients and visitors are discouraged by the organization's staff when the Board of Directors and its CEO, Dr. Marjorie Hill  agreed to the lease in 2011. The clients are directed to a separate GMHC entrance by the main building staff members when clients attempt to gain entry to the building though the main entranceway.
