To the GMC

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the PLAB 2 exam has been cancelled on numerous occasions this year. We, as doctors who have passed the PLAB 1 exam, have therefore been affected by this lack of opportunity. To that end, we request one of the following:
• Preferably, that all doctors who have passed PLAB 1 be provided with temporary/provisional registration & work-place based assessment in order to attain full registration, especially those who are already in the UK on different visa status.
• If this cannot be accommodated, inevitably, our IELTS, OET and PLAB 1 will soon expire. We can't possibly do this all over again. The time and the cost it took for us to reach here should not be wasted. Please therefore extend each of these awards for another year, regardless of days remaining.

You can appreciate the difficulty which we are facing in this respect, and we therefore need action to be taken on this.
