Let us create an Indie Film starring Glaiza de Castro and Rhian Ramos!
The Issue
The Rich Man's Daughter has captured the hearts of people from all walks of life locally and internationally. It has been fostering a culture of love and acceptance of people from the LGBTQ community. The team behind TRMD Love Wins video and photo series are willing to produce a film through crowdfunding from fans of the show. In order for this magic to happen, we'll need to make GMA network see the relevance of this project and to support us by permitting their artists, particularly Rhian Ramos and Glaiza De Castro, more fondly known as Rastro to star in the indie film to be produced by the TRMD Love Wins series team.

"To start with, there is an extreme lack of representation for the lesbian part of the community, in media, especially in films.
TRMD is a step towards changing that fact, but to move forward completely, I believe we need succeeding steps. And that's where an indie movie featuring RaStro could come in.
The RaStro Indie Film should happen because Rhian Ramos and Glaiza de Castro have both displayed incredible amounts of talent while playing Jade and Althea in TRMD.
They've both been challenged by their respective roles, and they've both come out on top. They consistently surprise us with their portrayal, so much so that every night, us viewers don't really know what to expect.
They keep us at the edge of our seats. They make us fall in love with them, cry with them, laugh with them. They make us feel every single thing they are feeling. The love, the joy, the hurt, the pain.
To describe it as brilliant acting skills is honestly an understatement.
And this is all happening under MTRCB's restrictions. I believe, that doing an Indie film will bring out a brand new level of A game from the both of them.
And that is something we would all love, and pay for, to see. Both local and international fans so would.
RaStro is the only representation we have right now. And we will forever be grateful to GMA for treating them as they would on any other hetero love team.
But, once TRMD is over, we may never get the chance to be represented again. We would once fall back behind.
An indie film is another step forward, into the hopes that the Philippine Entertainment would start opening its doors to themes like TRMD, and this prospective indie film would show."

“The Rich Man's Daughter is a brave show. It paints us a story of a topic that is still sometimes too taboo, even parents dare not discuss it with their children. It revolves around the love, and the conflicts that arised due to it, between two women, Althea and Jade. "Jathea", as the supporters lovingly calls the pair, has created not only a supportive fanbase, but a family. A family of once misfits who found home, security and belonging in each other. A family of rebels.A family that craves representation.
Although brave, the show is still governed by the rules of MTRCB, an agency whose main responsibility is to safeguard young audiences from the immorality that might be inadvertently showed on our local media. Whether a love shared by two consenting women should be censored is for a completely different discussion, but these restrictions hinder an accurate representation of our community. It is due to this that we appeal that an independently produced film starring both Ms. Glaiza de Castro and Ms. Rhian Ramos be created.
Films are created mainly to entertain- an avenue for escape, a break from the mundane. Growing up, we are bombarded with love stories written for the majority. Love stories that we want to relate to but just cannot for their struggles does not reflect our strife. Rarely do we encounter a gem that caters to us, the minority.
A film starring RASTRO can accomplish that. Both are brilliant actors and their on screen chemistry is palpable. Through this project, many viewers living inside a world they created inside their closets might find the courage to realize that this is no way to live. That the love they have repressed inside them can and should be shared. That it only requires that they are brave enough to power past the paralyzing fear they have walled themselves in. That it is possible for them to be wrapped and surrounded with so much love that it can overpower all that hatred that will be thrown towards them. That our brand of love is not only possible, but magical. A film that can curb the self hatred we all once felt because we didn't want to be different. A film that can pave the way for someone's journey towards self discovery. A film that can create multitudes of allies, whose support and acceptance we all need to aid us in our quest towards equality. A film that can break stereotypes, educate and inspire change.
It is for these reasons we appeal for this film be made into fruition. It is without exaggeration that I claim that this work will not only shape and transform but most importantly, save lives.”

These are just few of the best answers I've gathered after asking the fans on why should an indie film starring Philippine TV's first lesbian loveteam, "Rastro" happen. Honestly, these answer struck my heart deeply and made me want to push harder for this. Still not convinced? Go ahead and read their answers here: http://rastroindie.tumblr.com/
