Keep Longsmith Street car park open at night

Keep Longsmith Street car park open at night
The Issue
I’m asking Gloucester City Council to stop closing Longsmith Street car park at 7.15pm each evening (entrance is locked at 6.45pm). There are many businesses in this area that rely on this car park for staff and customers attending their premises. Going for a meal at Dr Foster's Waterfront Bar & Restaurant, Café Rene, Prezzo, The Bell Inn, Robert Raikes, having your hair done after work, popping a long to the Cross Keys for an open mic night, attending the Masonic Hall for a meeting, or an event at the Guildhall or Blackfriars, this car park is an ideal place to park. It is well lit and undercover. Gloucester City Centre does not close at 7pm. Having this car park closed at 7.15pm is an inconvenience to my business and many around me. Longsmith Street car park offers plenty of disabled and parents parking spaces. It is well lit, feels fairly safe and is under cover, so much nicer than returning to your car in the wind and rain at one of the open air car parks. The Council advertise on the traffic information boards that the car parks are free after 7pm, but two main car parks in the Blackfriars quarter are closed in the evening.
Please sign this petition calling on Gloucester City Council to keep Longsmith Street car park open during the evenings.
