Make leaving animals in cars on hot days a criminal offence in UK
The Issue
Dogs left alone in cars on hot days die, it's as simple as that. Yet almost on a daily basis in the UK dogs need to be rescued either by Police, RSPCA or ordinary people. Each of whom risk prosecution, why? Because it's considered criminal damage. Believe it or not dogs are considered the property of the owners. But let us be realistic here, it's not just dogs at risk, it's all animals left unattended in hot temperatures.
Let us change the law and make it a criminal offence to leave an animal unattended in cars, particularly in hot days.
Amendment to the current animal protection laws to include this offence should be easy enough to get passed by the House.
