Assure quality education for all

Assure quality education for all
The Issue
An urgent call
August 2018: Indian Constitution has ensured compulsory education as a fundamental right between ages 6 and 14. With 67% of the population thriving in rural areas, the literacy rate varies wildly.
Quality education does not mean securing marks or high percentage by young learners, but acquiring knowledge and skills over the years. As education is the backbone of our country, citizens should realise that learning must start from a young age to build a steady foundation.
To ensure that, quality hours should be invested throughout their educational journey and focus should be on enhancing numerical and literacy skills. Practical experience guides young minds as well as imbibing a sense of creativity while learning strengthens their take on the world around.
The number of classrooms and libraries do not affirm education being imparted. It matters how the information is reaching the students and how far are they able to comprehend and use what is being taught to them. Schools and colleges under the aid of government should make sure the staff teaching is selected based on their expertise at a subject and not based on age.
There are many organisations now to ascertain that more and more children get access to quality education. But then again, there is a fraction that remains neglected. There are only 75 public libraries serving a population of 200 million in Uttar Pradesh. The need of proper schooling and accessibility to books is extremely necessary and it's high time we address and resolve this.
Let's stand for the rights of young minds and help build a safe future for them by imparting knowledge and correcting the education system. Let education be an enlightening experience for all.
It's time we put a stop to the 'Chalta hai' attitude of policymakers and experts.
Need 10,000 signatures, please support!
Once we secure the requisite number of signatures, this shall be brought into notice of the Prime Minister of the country.
